Maybe just waiting it out at this point andor waiting for another Apple update. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding.Opening the Console app and that thing is just working overtime.
Security 2017-001 Install The SecurityDid you manually or did the system automatically re-install the security update.I repaired permissions which stopped the crashing of Spotlight and Safari, least visibly. Ive tried the steps above but its still acting like a meth head Grr. Turned my MBP on today and it showed the second update and already updating. However I only see it updated once in my update history, the update from 1129. Did everyone else having this issue have their computer magically fix itself Mine is still flipping out and I cant seem to find a fix anywhere. The month 13 error does not appear to be related to the security update. I noticed that spotlight didnt start crashing until Safari did. Ive gone through all the normal troubleshooting techniques, even did a full restore from backup. ![]() My problem, unfortunately, has not yet magically fixed itself. In the console, it shows Safari and Spotlight crashing with the exact same exception from CoreFoundation: Terminating app due to uncaught exception NSInvalidArgumentException, reason: -NSPlaceholderDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:count:: attempt to insert nil object from objects1 First throw call stack: ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff34fd92fb exceptionPreprocess 171 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x00007fff5b94ac76 objcexceptionthrow 48 2 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff3501a7b4 CFThrowFormattedException 202 3 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff34edc7c2 -NSPlaceholderDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:count: 322 4 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff34edc64b NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjects:forKeys:count: 59 5 CommerceKit 0x00007fff46e17858 -CKStoreDAAPLibrary writePersistedStore 402 6 CommerceKit 0x00007fff46e19c45 -CKStoreDAAPLibrary updatedItems:deletedItems:withLatestVersion: 988 7 CommerceKit. Spotlight keeps crashing (as seen by its disappearance and reappearance every 5-10 seconds in the menu bar). I attempted using mdutil in terminal to turn off Spotlight indexing, removed the indexes, manually deleted them, turned it back on, played around with the settings for Spotlight in System preferences, and so on, and nothing worked. I even played around with my User Accounts to see if that would solve anything, to no avail. I resorted to backing everything up and going with a formatclean install of High Sierra. I thought it straightened everything out, but my first restart after the security update things started glitching out again. Right now spotlight actually seems to have settled down after doing a SMC reset (didnt really think it would do anything but gave it a try), but Safari is still crashing.
